Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dozing Consciousness by Marina Abramović was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,476.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marina Abramović achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Life in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 319,244.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dozing Consciousness von Marina Abramović kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.476,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marina Abramović erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Life im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 319.244,23).
