Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rhythm 0 by Marina Abramović was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,742.62). Admittedly, works by Marina Abramović have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Life in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 319,244.23).
