It achieved a price of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edouard Adam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Charles M. Watts at sea sold at auction in January 2008 with the realized price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,738.09).
