This artwork by Edouard Adam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Two Centuries: American Art auction, the work Marine Painting of Bark Miriam sold for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,506.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edouard Adam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Charles M. Watts at sea sold at auction in January 2008 with the realized price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,738.09).
