Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel, which included the work Amaranthus caudatus Tassel flower (Papua New Guinea); and Study of a flower by Marian Ellis Rowan. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,264.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marian Ellis Rowan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decorated Screen with Wildflowers, c.1880 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 59,040.00 (€ 52,307.96).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Exploration and Travel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amaranthus caudatus Tassel flower (Papua New Guinea); and Study of a flower von Marian Ellis Rowan zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.264,40) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marian Ellis Rowan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decorated Screen with Wildflowers, c.1880 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 59.040,00 (€ 52.307,96).
