A top price for Maria Chevska - as previously expected
The work Eyeballing by Maria Chevska was sold in the Post War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,108.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Eyeballing is the most expensive artwork by Maria Chevska that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Eyeballing von Maria Chevska wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.108,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Eyeballing das teuerste Kunstwerk von Maria Chevska, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
