Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Eyeballing I by Maria Chevska was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 563.00 (€ 672.78). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maria Chevska - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eyeballing, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,108.35).
