Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Turner Box (Paper on Johns) by Marco Maggi was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,861.54). Admittedly, works by Marco Maggi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 29,542.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Turner Box (Paper on Johns) von Marco Maggi im September 2012 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.861,54) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marco Maggi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 29.542,45).
