Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Marcelle Ferron was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CAD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CAD 9,600.00 (€ 6,892.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcelle Ferron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 485,500.00 (€ 372,410.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Marcelle Ferron im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CAD 9.600,00 (€ 6.892,82) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcelle Ferron erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 485.500,00 (€ 372.410,22).
