MARCEL DUCHAMP (1887-1968) Arturo Schwarz, The Large Glass and Related Works, Volume II the complete artist's book comprising of nine etchings, on handmade paper watermarked THE LARGE GLASS , 1967-1968, signed in pencil by the artist and author on the justification page, number 94 of 150 (there were also fifteen examples numbered on Roman numerals), published by Galleria Schwarz, Milan, 1967, with title, text and justification pages, loose (as issued), in good condition, together with the original orange linen-covered portfolio box with purple embossed title in wooden box Overall: 19 1 ⁄ 8 in. x 12 1 ⁄ 4 x 3 1 ⁄ 2 in. (485 x 311 x 889 mm.)
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Arturo Schwarz, The Large Glass and Related Works, Volume II by Marcel Duchamp was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It achieved a price of USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,277.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Duchamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Arturo Schwarz, The Large Glass and Related Works, Volume II von Marcel Duchamp wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.277,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Duchamp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belle haleine - Eau de voilette im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.913.000,00.
