Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, 2008 by Marc Swanson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 854.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Swanson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Black Full Sneak) in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 45,000.00 (€ 33,748.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, 2008 von Marc Swanson im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 854,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Swanson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Black Full Sneak) im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.000,00 (€ 33.748,31).
