Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Pirogue Table Lamp, Circa 1939 by Marc du Plantier was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 62,500.00. Admittedly, works by Marc du Plantier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Rare and Important 'Lotus' Console in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 261,150.69).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Pirogue Table Lamp, Circa 1939 von Marc du Plantier im November 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 62.500,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc du Plantier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Rare and Important 'Lotus' Console im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 261.150,69).
