Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A wooded river landscape with peasants on a track and fishing vessels, ruins beyond; and A wooded river landscape with peasants before a fortified city, fishing vessels, and a village beyond by Marc Baets was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art auction at Christies in London in October 2011. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,075.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Baets - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Villagers on a track in a river landscape, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 24,100.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with peasants on a track and fishing vessels, ruins beyond; and A wooded river landscape with peasants before a fortified city, fishing vessels, and a village beyond von Marc Baets wurde im Oktober 2011 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.075,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Marc Baets mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Villagers on a track in a river landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 14.100,00 (€ 24.100,93) versteigert wurde.
