Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A river landscape with a tower and a watermill; and A river landscape with a village by Marc Baets was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,734.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Baets - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Villagers on a track in a river landscape, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 24,100.93).

Die Arbeit A river landscape with a tower and a watermill; and A river landscape with a village von Marc Baets kam im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.734,76) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marc Baets mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Villagers on a track in a river landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 14.100,00 (€ 24.100,93) versteigert wurde.
