This artwork by Marc Baets achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2001. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work A river landscape with peasants unloading cargo from a sailing vessel, a village beyond sold for EUR 8,812.50 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Baets - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Villagers on a track in a river landscape, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 24,100.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Baets erzielte im November 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES wurde die Arbeit A river landscape with peasants unloading cargo from a sailing vessel, a village beyond für EUR 8.812,50 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marc Baets mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Villagers on a track in a river landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 14.100,00 (€ 24.100,93) versteigert wurde.
