The work Withered Lotus by Mao Lizi was sold in the Asian and Western 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Shanghai in April 2014. It achieved a price of CNY 750,000.00 (€ 86,517.66), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Mao Lizi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,880,000.00 (€ 455,266.51).

Die Arbeit Withered Lotus von Mao Lizi wurde im April 2014 in der Auktion Asian and Western 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Shanghai versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von CNY 750.000,00 (€ 86.517,66) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mao Lizi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.880.000,00 (€ 455.266,51).
