A top price for Mao Lizi
When this work without title by Mao Lizi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 120,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 32 times as high at HKD 3,880,000.00 (€ 455,266.51). This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Mao Lizi that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Mao Lizi im Mai 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 120.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 3.880.000,00 (€ 455.266,51) mehr als 32-mal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht das Werk ohne Titel zum teuersten Kunstwerk von Mao Lizi, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
