Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figure Au Chapeau by Manuel Rendón was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 28,125.00 (€ 22,747.49). Other works by Manuel Rendón have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2004 by the work L'exploration at EUR 38,240.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Figure Au Chapeau von Manuel Rendón im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 28.125,00 (€ 22.747,49) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Manuel Rendón wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2004 die Arbeit L'exploration mit EUR 38.240,00.
