Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Scaphandrier by Manuel Rendón was sold in the Latin America: Modern Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,910.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Rendón - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'exploration, which sold at auction in June 2004 for EUR 38,240.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Scaphandrier von Manuel Rendón wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.910,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Manuel Rendón mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'exploration beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für EUR 38.240,00 versteigert wurde.
