Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Globe Man by Manuel Ocampo was auctioned at Phillips in New York in December 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,636.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manuel Ocampo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Los Comicos Ambulantes in December last year with an auction result of USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,622.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Globe Man von Manuel Ocampo im Dezember 2006 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.636,74) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manuel Ocampo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Los Comicos Ambulantes im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.622,55).
