The work Romy sobre fondo naranja by Manolo Valdés was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. It achieved a price of USD 252,000.00 (€ 244,115.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manolo Valdés - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Infanta Margarita, which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 457,250.00 (€ 538,602.24).

Die Arbeit Romy sobre fondo naranja von Manolo Valdés wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 244.115,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Für andere Arbeiten von Manolo Valdés mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Infanta Margarita beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 457.250,00 (€ 538.602,24) versteigert wurde.
