Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Manolis Calliyannis could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Cinq Oranges changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 919.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manolis Calliyannis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek La Lumiere De La Mer (The Light Of The Sea) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,748.59).
