Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mainie Jellett achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2015. In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Waterfall sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,974.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mainie Jellett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pietà in May last year with an auction result of EUR 88,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mainie Jellett erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Waterfall für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.974,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mainie Jellett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pietà im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 88.200,00.
