Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Abstract Composition (Pink And Aquamarine) by Mainie Jellett was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,807.08), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mainie Jellett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pietà in May last year with an auction result of EUR 88,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Abstract Composition (Pink And Aquamarine) von Mainie Jellett wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.807,08) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mainie Jellett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pietà im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 88.200,00.
