Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for Achill Horses II by Mainie Jellett was sold in the THE IRISH SALE auction at Christies in London in May 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,799.00 (€ 14,702.11) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mainie Jellett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pietà in May last year with an auction result of EUR 88,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for Achill Horses II von Mainie Jellett wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion THE IRISH SALE bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 9.799,00 (€ 14.702,11) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mainie Jellett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pietà im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 88.200,00.
