Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Prosperity by Mai Luowu was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,136.66). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mai Luowu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ensemble, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 18,525.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Prosperity von Mai Luowu wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.136,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mai Luowu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ensemble beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 18.525,62) versteigert wurde.
