The work L'Endormie (The Dreamer) by Mahmoud Saïd was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2019. The auction ended at the price of GBP 250,000.00 (€ 289,982.07), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mahmoud Saïd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Whirling Dervishes in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit L'Endormie (The Dreamer) von Mahmoud Saïd kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 250.000,00 (€ 289.982,07) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53).
