Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Nil à Louxor (Chadouf) by Mahmoud Saïd was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part I auction at Christies in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 60,480.00 (€ 70,082.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Saïd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whirling Dervishes in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Nil à Louxor (Chadouf) von Mahmoud Saïd wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part I bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 70.082,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53).
