Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Fille à l’imprimé (Girl in a printed dress) by Mahmoud Saïd was sold in the Marhala: Highlights from the Dalloul Collection auction at Christies in London in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 550,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 567,000.00 (€ 657,029.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahmoud Saïd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Whirling Dervishes, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Fille à l’imprimé (Girl in a printed dress) von Mahmoud Saïd wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Marhala: Highlights from the Dalloul Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 550.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 567.000,00 (€ 657.029,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53) versteigert wurde.
