Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mahmoud Saïd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale auction, the work Paysage a Louxor sold for GBP 453,900.00 (€ 525,966.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahmoud Saïd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Whirling Dervishes, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Saïd erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale wurde die Arbeit Paysage a Louxor für GBP 453.900,00 (€ 525.966,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53) versteigert wurde.
