Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art, which included the work Nu couché au divan blue (Nude Reclining on a Blue Couch) by Mahmoud Saïd. The price achieved of GBP 138,900.00 (€ 163,402.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Saïd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whirling Dervishes in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nu couché au divan blue (Nude Reclining on a Blue Couch) von Mahmoud Saïd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 138.900,00 (€ 163.402,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 120.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53).
