In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Loquats by Ma Yuanyu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,075.19), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ma Yuanyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herons In The Lotus Pond, which sold at auction in October last year for HKD 432,000.00 (€ 55,358.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Loquats von Ma Yuanyu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.075,19) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ma Yuanyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herons In The Lotus Pond beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für HKD 432.000,00 (€ 55.358,97) versteigert wurde.
