Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Chrysanthemums by Ma Yuanyu was worth HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,354.48) to a buyer in May 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ma Yuanyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herons In The Lotus Pond, which sold at auction in October last year for HKD 432,000.00 (€ 55,358.97).

Die Arbeit Chrysanthemums von Ma Yuanyu war einem Käufer im Mai 2013 HKD 175.000,00 (€ 17.354,48) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Ma Yuanyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herons In The Lotus Pond beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für HKD 432.000,00 (€ 55.358,97) versteigert wurde.
