Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ma Liuming could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Ullens Collection - Experimentation and Evolution auction, the work Baby No. 1 changed hands for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 10,966.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ma Liuming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baby No. 7 in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ma Liuming konnte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Ullens Collection - Experimentation and Evolution wechselte die Arbeit Baby No. 1 für HKD 118.750,00 (€ 10.966,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Liuming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baby No. 7 im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75).
