In April 2010 Phillips in London held the auction BRIC Theme Sale, which included the work Bicho by Lygia Clark. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 367,250.00 (€ 422,632.91), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lygia Clark have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im April 2010 führte Phillips in London die Auktion BRIC Theme Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bicho von Lygia Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 367.250,00 (€ 422.632,91) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lygia Clark auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
