Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La fidelidad del dolor by Luis González Palma was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,141.76). Admittedly, works by Luis González Palma have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Loteria I, 1989 in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,775.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La fidelidad del dolor von Luis González Palma im August 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.141,76) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luis González Palma auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Loteria I, 1989 im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 21.775,42).
