A top price for Luigi Lucioni - as previously expected
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Evening Sale, which included the work Red Checkered Tablecloth by Luigi Lucioni. The price achieved of USD 150,000.00 (€ 132,473.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Red Checkered Tablecloth is the most expensive artwork by Luigi Lucioni that we have observed at auctions so far.
