Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Elizabeth 20 x 16 in. (50.8 x 40.6 cm.) by Luigi Lucioni was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,099.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Lucioni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Checkered Tablecloth in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 132,473.73).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Elizabeth 20 x 16 in. (50.8 x 40.6 cm.) von Luigi Lucioni im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.099,25) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luigi Lucioni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Checkered Tablecloth im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 132.473,73).
