This artwork by Ludwig Sander achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Pompeii X sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,948.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ludwig Sander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Athabascan Viii, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,585.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ludwig Sander erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Pompeii X für USD 16.380,00 (€ 13.948,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Sander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Athabascan Viii beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 32.585,42) versteigert wurde.
