It achieved a price of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,437.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Bemelmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Illustration for 'Madeline and the Bad Hat' ("Pepito carried a bulging sack") in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 257,515.12).

Die Arbeit Sketch for 'Parsley' von Ludwig Bemelmans kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.437,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Bemelmans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Illustration for 'Madeline and the Bad Hat' ("Pepito carried a bulging sack") im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 257.515,12).
