Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ludovico Carracci could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider auction, the work The Virgin And Child With The Infant Baptist In A Wooded Landscape Near The Coast changed hands for GBP 47,000.00 (€ 76,536.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludovico Carracci achieve.
