Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Bearded Man, Leaning On A Ledge, Resting His Head Against His Fist by Ludovico Carracci. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,790.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludovico Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Salmacis And Hermaphroditus in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,400,000.00 (€ 10,832,732.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Bearded Man, Leaning On A Ledge, Resting His Head Against His Fist von Ludovico Carracci zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.790,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludovico Carracci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Salmacis And Hermaphroditus im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.400.000,00 (€ 10.832.732,69).
