Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Saint Peter In Penitence by Ludovico Carracci. The price achieved of GBP 362,500.00 (€ 466,657.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludovico Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Salmacis And Hermaphroditus in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,400,000.00 (€ 10,832,732.69).
