Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lucien Smith could be acquired at Phillips in London in June 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Boys Don't Cry changed hands for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,317.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lucien Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucien Smith konnte im Juni 2017 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Boys Don't Cry für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.317,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucien Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 285.903,28).
