Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Virgin And Child With A Bunch Of Grapes by Lucas Cranach II. The price achieved of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,157,738.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lucas Cranach II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Virgin And Child With A Bunch Of Grapes von Lucas Cranach II zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.157.738,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach II mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 1.812.000,00 (€ 2.691.238,28) versteigert wurde.
