Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Paul by Lucas Cranach II was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 182,500.00 (€ 258,723.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Cranach II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).
