Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist and Angels by Lucas Cranach II was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 791,250.00 (€ 935,164.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lucas Cranach II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Virgin and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist and Angels von Lucas Cranach II wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
