Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Crucifixion by Lucas Cranach II was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2013. The price achieved of GBP 362,500.00 (€ 436,031.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lucas Cranach II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).

Die Arbeit The Crucifixion von Lucas Cranach II kam im Dezember 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 362.500,00 (€ 436.031,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.812.000,00 (€ 2.691.238,28).
