This artwork by Lucas Cranach II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Portrait Of A Woman sold for USD 362,500.00 (€ 277,713.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lucas Cranach II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucas Cranach II erzielte im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Woman für USD 362.500,00 (€ 277.713,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas Cranach II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.812.000,00 (€ 2.691.238,28).
