Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lucas Cranach II could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Dress With A White Lace Collar And Cuffs changed hands for GBP 68,500.00 (€ 78,273.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Cranach II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green velvet and orange dress and a pearl-embroidered black hat in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,812,000.00 (€ 2,691,238.28).
In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Dress With A White Lace Collar And Cuffs für GBP 68.500,00 (€ 78.273,19) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00.
